fiScanner - A (WIA) image scanner application for Windows 7 or greater, providing better scanning functionality than Windows Fax and Scan. Allows the output folder and (base) filename to be specified, and also allows for multiple scans at once.

Does not support Windows XP.

Features

Provides functionality that Windows Fax and Scan should have by default
Adds the ability to specify the output folder and filename for scanned documents
Has batch scan mode (all having same base filename)
Can have persistent settings

Simple and brilliant software. Uses the inbuilt Windows scan but is much quicker than Windows Fax and Scan - i.e. it's never crashed or staggered on me.
