fields.awk

Fields.awk allows users to create and work with small-to-medium databases on their home computers or a mobile device with bash shell terminal emulator. It runs on any OS compatible with bash shell, including Linux, FreeBSD, MacOSX, and Android.
Certain optional features (printing/encryption) are dependent on external utilities such as lp or ccrypt.

Features

Selection between alternate data files
Interactive creation of new databases
Searching for records matching a given key word/phrase
Display record searches in full or selected-fields only.
Write new records, or modify selected fields in selected records.
Tally numerical data in selected fields.
Save search outputs to text files.
Edit/print/delete search output files.
Encrypt/decrypt data-files (optional)
