    Exton|OS

    Exton|OS

Exton|OS 64 bit based on Ubuntu/Debian with KDE Plasma 5.27.11

ABOUT Exton|OS is based on Ubuntu 24.04 64 bit and Debian Sid. Exton|OS ISO file is a ISO-hybrid, which means that it can easily be transferred (copied) to a USB stick. IMPORTANT ABOUT REFRACTA TOOLS Refracta tools are pre-installed in Exton|OS . Use Refracta Snapshot to create your own live installable Ubuntu system. RUNS FROM RAM Another great thing is that Exton|OS can run from RAM. Use Boot alternative 2 (Load to RAM). When the system has booted up you can remove the disc (DVD/CD) or USB stick. You'll need at least 4 GB RAM to run Exton|OS that way. I.e. super fast! USB installation To enable persistence you can install Exton|OS to a USB stick in the same way as a hard drive installation. You can use Refracta Installer. ANDROID STUDIO You can emulate different Android systems (with GAPPS). If you have plenty of RAM you can do it live. I.e. while running Exton|OS from a USB stick. VirtualBox Guest Additions are pre-installed. Kernel 6.11.6-amd64-exton.

    AndEX Nougat/Marshmallow/Lollipop

    AndEX Nougat/Marshmallow/Lollipop

    Android-x86 7.1.2/6.0.1/5.1.1 with GAPPS

I have compiled three Android-x86 systems (Nougat 7.1.2, Marshmallow 6.0.1 and Lollipop 5.1.1), which can run live or be installed on almost all laptops (and some Desktop computers). INSTALL the systems to HARD DRIVE Say for example that you have a laptop with Windows 10 installed as the only operating system. If you just create one extra partition of about 5 GB you can install Nougat/Marshmallow/Lollipop on this extra partition and then “dual-boot”. I.e. decide whether you want to start Windows or Android-x86 Marshmallow/Lollipop. Grub will be installed as boot handler/loader during the installation of Android Marshmallow/Lollipop. NOTE: The installation will take only about one minute. And the installation to hard drive is so simple that a 10 year old child can do it. MORE ABOUT AndEX Nougat is the latest version of the Android mobile operating system developed by Google.

Guide to Open Source GApps

Open source GApps, also known as Google Applications, are a set of applications for smart phones and devices powered by the Android operating system. These apps are open source, which means that they can be modified, shared, and distributed freely by any user who has permission to do so. The range of Google applications includes many popular ones like Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube, Hangouts and Play Store. Open source GApps are great alternative to official apps provided by Google as they often offer more features than the originals or provide newer versions before they become available with official updates.

These applications are maintained and developed in accordance with Google’s guidelines. Additionally, users must not forget that these open source applications also contain advertisements that generate revenue for developers. Several communities exist around maintaining these GApps and their development is constantly evolving – this is one of the main benefits associated with open source software – it can be updated quickly to include bug fixes and new features.

With open source GApps users get access to several additional benefits such as privacy options and customization possibilities; users can choose what type of information will be sent from their device to the servers; configure notifications settings; customize backgrounds and more. Furthermore, since most free versions of Gapps come without any tracking or authentication software there is no need for any embarrassing permissions or intrusive ads when using them either. This allows Android devices owners to truly enjoy an untouched experience while still benefiting from all essential Google Application services without having their data mined by third-party companies in the process - something that cannot always be said about official versions of these apps offered via the Play Store or other App Stores.

What Features Do Open Source GApps Provide?

  • Calendar Sync: Open source GApps provides calendar sync which allows users to keep their personal and business calendars in one place. It can synchronize events from multiple sources, like Google Calendar and Outlook, allowing for more accurate scheduling.
  • Drive Access: Users are able to access their files on the cloud using open source GApps' Drive Access feature. This gives them the ability to store documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images and videos with ease.
  • File Sharing: Open source GApps facilitates secure file sharing through its built-in file sharing feature. It allows users to share files easily with colleagues or friends without worrying about data breaches or hacking attempts.
  • Collaboration Tools: The platform offers a wide range of collaboration tools that make working together efficient and effective. This includes document editing capabilities, real-time chat messaging, voice and video conferencing capability plus team management options.
  • Email Integration: Open source GApps supports email integration, enabling users to send emails directly from their accounts while also being able to access emails sent by others on the same platform from anywhere.
  • Security Features: Open source GApps includes security features such as two-factor authentication (2FA) and encryption for enhanced user privacy when accessing data stored in the cloud-based system.

What Are the Different Types of Open Source GApps?

  • FOSS-GApps: These are Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) based Google Apps, which are created using open source code. They offer the same features as their closed source counterparts, but without the data collecting capabilities.
  • GSuite Alternatives: These apps replicate the features and functionality of Google’s popular GSuite suite of tools, such as Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs and Sheets. They come in a variety of formats — such as hosted services or self-hosted software packages — providing specialized options to suit specific needs.
  • Office Suites: Open source office suites provide an alternative to Microsoft Office with word processing, spreadsheets and presentation tools that can work both online or offline. These programs can help you collaborate on documents and projects with other users across multiple devices in real time.
  • Productivity Tools: Open source productivity tools are designed to replace expensive or difficult-to-use applications with simpler alternatives that allow users to quickly create text documents, manage tasks lists and organize team activities more efficiently. These programs can be used for both work and personal projects alike.
  • Communication/Collaboration platforms: Open source communication/collaboration platforms provide secure ways for multiple users from around the world to interact in real time over different networks like cloud computing or virtual private networks (VPN). Such solutions make use of voice messaging systems along with video conferencing technologies so team members can stay connected regardless of geographic location.
  • Data Management Platforms: With open source data management platforms like databases or CRMs (Customer Relationship Management software), businesses have more control over customer information collected via their website or stores while ensuring customer privacy is maintained at all times. Such solutions enable companies to track sales opportunities and leads more effectively than ever before while keeping stored data secure at all times against potential security threats.

What Are the Benefits Provided by Open Source GApps?

  1. Free of Cost: Open source GApps are completely free of cost, allowing users to access the same features and functionalities as those in proprietaryprograms.
  2. Freedom To Customize: Open source GApps allows users to customize the software according to their individual needs. This includes changing the code, adding new features, or removing existing ones.
  3. Security & Reliability: Since open source applications are transparent and all modifications or changes are open for public viewing, security flaws can be identified quickly and remedied before they become a threat. Additionally, there is minimal risk that the software will malfunction due to lack of oversight by corporate stakeholders who may limit innovation.
  4. Cross-Platform Accessibility: Most open source GApps can be used across multiple platforms like Windows, Mac OS X and Linux operating systems with minimal effort compared to proprietary programs which often require additional installation packages for some devices/platforms.
  5. Support from Community: Open source projects depend on its user community for bug fixes and updates since there is no dedicated team for maintenance or development work. As such, open-source users rely heavily on each other’s expertise when troubleshooting issues or finding solutions to problems which encourages collaboration within their respective communities.

Types of Users That Use Open Source GApps

  • Hobbyists: These are users who are primarily interested in the software for their own personal use and enjoyment. They might be looking to explore different tools and options, modify existing software, or just learn more about open source GApps.
  • Businesses: These are users who take advantage of the free nature of open source GApps to create applications that they can then resell to other businesses or individuals. This may include products that integrate with proprietary technologies, add features not included within the original product, or provide custom integrations that are difficult to find elsewhere.
  • Developers: Developers benefit from open source GApps because it gives them access to a large library of code and templates which can be used as a starting point for larger projects. This makes coding faster and easier, allowing developers to focus on making their product better instead of reinventing the wheel every time they start a project. Additionally, since most open source projects have contributions from multiple people worldwide, it’s easier for developers to collaborate on larger projects without having to coordinate efforts between multiple people in different locations.
  • Education institutions: Open source GApps offer several advantages over expensive alternatives when it comes to educational settings. Not only do these products often provide superior functionality at no cost but they also make it easy for teachers and students alike to collaborate on tasks together while still working independently due to their online availability and user-friendly interfaces. Furthermore, since many open source GApp packages abide by specific coding standards or licenses, educators have assurance that any programs created using them will remain true works of intellectual property owned by the creator and not liable for copyright infringement claims further down the line.
  • Government agencies: Many government agencies prefer open source solutions due to increased transparency measures concerning how funds are being spent on IT systems. In addition, governments gain additional assurances through using such technology since anyone is allowed access into its codebase meaning potential bugs can quickly be identified before widespread damage is incurred from utilizing an imperfect system design unknowingly by all parties involved. Finally security concerns surrounding sensitive data stored within such systems can be alleviated thanks in part due the aforementioned openness found within these types of programs supplied through GitHub repositories or similar services available online completely free of charge.

How Much Do Open Source GApps Cost?

Open source GApps is completely free to use, so it doesn't cost anything. Google's open source GApps enables developers and businesses to build applications using the same tools that power Google's own services. Developers have access to a variety of APIs and SDKs that allow them to create engaging experiences as well as integrate with existing applications. Plus, users are able to use the code base across platforms, meaning they can build an app in Android, iOS or web and it will work just as well on all platforms. There are no hidden costs associated with open source GApps - it's available for everyone to download and use at no cost whatsoever.

What Do Open Source GApps Integrate With?

Open source GApps is a collection of open source applications and tools that can be integrated with various types of software. It typically includes tools like Google Docs, Calendar, Spreadsheets, Slides, Gmail and more. These apps are designed to work together and can be used for a variety of purposes including collaboration, document sharing, communication, project management and other business processes. Integration with open source GApps allows organizations to take advantage of the capabilities offered by these applications while also offering their own customization options. For example, developers may choose to integrate custom code into existing GApps applications or build add-ons that enhance the existing functionality. Other types of software which can easily integrate with Open Source GApps include web development platforms such as WordPress and Drupal; cloud computing solutions like Amazon Web Services; mobile app development frameworks such as React Native; data analysis programs like RStudio; server side scripting languages such as PHP and Python; machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow; reporting tools like Tableau; productivity suites like Microsoft Office 365; customer relationship management systems like Salesforce and so on.

Recent Trends Related to Open Source GApps

  1. Open source GApps have become increasingly popular due to their flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
  2. With open source GApps, users can customize their applications to fit their individual needs. This allows them to create apps that are tailored specifically to their business or organization.
  3. Open source GApps also offer greater security and privacy compared to proprietary software. This is important for businesses and organizations that need to protect sensitive data.
  4. Open source GApps can be used across multiple platforms and devices, making them ideal for businesses that need to reach customers on different devices.
  5. Open source GApps are often more cost-effective than other types of software. This makes them attractive for businesses looking to keep costs low while still getting the functionality they need.
  6. Open source GApps often provide access to a wide range of features and capabilities that would otherwise require expensive licenses or subscription fees. This makes them attractive for businesses looking to get the most out of their investment.

Getting Started With Open Source GApps

Getting started with using open source GApps is a relatively straightforward process. The first step is to find and download the version of GApps that matches the particular version of Android running on your device. You can typically find these downloads through an online search, such as on XDA-Developers or another reputable website.

Next, you will want to make sure your device allows you to install from “unknown sources”, which can usually be found in the settings menu under security settings. Then, you will need to transfer the gapps zip file onto your device and install it using a recovery tool like TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project). Once that's done, reboot the phone and then open up Google Play Store. If everything was installed correctly, you should now have access to all of your favorite GApps apps.

A third-party app store may also be necessary if you'd like access to more than just the standard collection of Google apps available in GApps. Popular options include F-Droid and Aptoide Market. Once an app store has been downloaded and set up, users will have access to thousands more open source apps not necessarily part of Google's standard offering.

Overall, getting started with using open source GApps does take some additional legwork compared to relying solely on Google Play Store for Android applications; however, it opens up numerous new opportunities for customization that would otherwise not be possible without installing custom ROMs or engaging in other risky activities.
