  • My apologies to you all. I tried ExLight Build 220726 on a really old computer – Acer Aspire 5102WLMi from 2006. Running ExLight on that computer I got the same problems as the ones you have described. I.e. I could only log in from console mode. I could never reach the Enlightenment Desktop. I have therefore decided to upload a new version of ExLight with a new kernel (possibly the newest) and upgraded packages. That will probably happen today. If the new version won’t run on my old Aspire I have to say that ExLight only runs on fairly new computers. EDIT 221130 I'm sorry to say that you can't use too old computers if you want to run Enlightenment in ExLight. You can, however, install and run any other DE in ExLight. I first thought that it was a kernel problem. Or that LightDM wasn't properly configured. That was not the case. The login problem is the same no matter which Display Manager you use. My conclusion is that Enlightenment itself is the problem.

gorkawien, I'm sorry to disappoint you (again). Your remarks: 1. Click on the Swedish flag and you will get the US keyboard. 2. Calamares and Refracta Installer work very well. Both are very simple to use. 3. ConnMan is very easy to use. Just click on your WiFi Network and connect. Watch this screenshot: http://exlight.exton.net/exlight-connman-wifi-210125.jpg 4. The kernel: You can always install Debian's original kernel if you for some reason don't like mine. Or compile your own kernel. It's very simple. 5. You don't have to bother about NetworkManager. If you use a wired connection you will be connected automatically. If you use a WiFi connection you shall use ConnMan to get connected. 6. Update the system: I say this on the INFO site: "KNOWN ISSUES After a hard drive installation using Calamares Installer (Not Refracta Installer) you’ll have two “problems”. 1. /etc/apt/sources.list will be different. Replace it with this file. 2. The root password will be gone. Fix it by logging in as the ordinary user user and run the command sudo passwd root. You'll find the original sources.list here: http://exlight.exton.net/sources.list-change-to-this-after-install
  • Excellent work, several times pulled out of a deep OSes downs with your LiveCD. Thank you very much for your work!
