Eights — ANSI-art text card games ================================= I wrote an image viewer that used ANSI codes for display and mouse support. This can be found as AnsiView in SourceForge. I could not find Eights supported on any free software, and PySolFC was not working on my Mac at the time, so I re-used elements of AnsiView to make a version for myself. I now support several games as well as the original 'eights'. The common software is in cardTools.cpp, and each patience has its own .cpp file. The code compiles with a one-line command given in the in the file header. I tried working on native Windows, but I had problems with different key codes, and levels of ANSI support. The program compiles and runs under the WSL2 Bash shell so I shall stick with that. You are welcome to use this code to develop your own games. You will see that each game has a common skeleton structure. However, each new patience brings its own challenges, and I have modified cardTools.cpp every time I have done something new. If you want a game supported, I can have a go. I have no long term plans. I imagine the games keeing their current skeleton structure, but with common features moved to cardTools.cpp.
