Dream3DGE
version 1.29
README
============
This is a preliminary source code port of
EDGE 1.29 for Sega Dreamcast. The next
version of this code will be for 1.37 of
the engine and most likey be rewritten.

Please note that 1.29 contains features
that have been greatly deprecated since
3DGE 1.36 so this is only here for purely
historical reasons. Don't complain that this
or that doesn't work, because it's been
fixed in later versions! We plan on releasing
them with Harmony of Darkness when it ships
early next year!

This can compile and run on a Sega Dreamcast
that's PAL & NTSC. FreeDOOM is the example
that was used to built it from.

Lots of bugs exist currently in this version:

1) Status bar noise, clipping problems related
   to RGL_DrawPSprite

2) Sound/Music not working
   + Can be enabled at Compile Time, but we
     forgot why we left it alone...probably
     wasn't working correctly.

3) WADS need to be configured to load in
   /src -> main.cc, under:
    extern int I_Main, in the ifdef:
    #ifdef RUN_GOLDENEYE
    using the -file parameter.

4) Throw all files in the /cd folder and
   generate an IP.bin and 1ST_READ.bin.

5) This release is mostly unsupported, since
   1.37 is on the way for release with the
   upcoming commercial Dreamcast title,
   Harmony of Darkness.

6) If you build mods, they need to be compatible
   with 1.29 or lower. The GWA needs to be built
   first at run-time with a PC, then copied to the
   folder with the WADS before you compile to image.

7) The PC/Linux releases of EDGE 1.29 are included
   to help with GWA and WAD generation. Do not use
   WADS or anything else from any newer version of
   EDGE or 3DGE otherwise it will crash! YOU HAVE
   BEEN WARNED!

If you have any questions or concerns, or need help compiling,
we have a thread at the TDGMods Forum Board specifically for
DREAM3DGE, please visit it here:

http://www.tdgmods.net/smf/viewforum.php?f=30

That means if you have any cool project announcements using the
technology (either 1.36 or Dream3DGE), post them there too!
