NEW V3 version with RTC and buzzer (require V3+ ECG Logger Viewer application)

The ECG Logger project is a Wearable Cardio Monitor for Long-Term (up to 24h) ECG Data Acquisition and Analysis (aka Holter) with an ECG live (real-time) mode.

This project provides a very low-cost open-source "Hardware and Software" for a Cardiac Rhythmic Holter. The hardware has been made very simple and is based on an Arduino Nano micro-controller with boards for SD card mass-storage, instrumentation differential amplifier and RTC. It can help monitoring arrhythmia syndromes such as bradycardia, tachycardia, extra-systoles, pause or flutter.

WARNING:
In no case it can be use to replace a professional medical examination.
Device MUST NOT BE CONNECTED to appliance powered by mains - risk of electrical shocks

User Reviews

  • The frontend software is Excelent. The hardware is using power of Atmega328 in 100%.
  • Very good ecg holter recorder and viewer. The best that I have found in the internet using arduino. Very useful, easy, and the Ecg viewer Pc sw app is perfct in order to analize the data recorded, or performing real time ecg view. And very good documentation too. Whe I perform the holter all work perfect the firts time without any problem. Perfect.
  • This project is one of the best documented and well developed I have ever seen. I ran into some issues early on when I was running it for the first time because my microsd breakout board was defective. Be sure to check that you have a functioning microsd (there are many counterfeit microsd cards out there) and a functioning breakout board. I reccomend before running the ECG Logger Viewer software checking that the microsd is recognized by using the Arduino IDE SD sketches. Also make sure that the Arduino IDE is closed before trying to open the Logger software. I also had a few issues with my desktop where the Logger Viewer software wouldn't recognize the device even though the Arduino IDE ran without issue. I fixed this by installing the software on another computer and connecting the Device and the software immediately recognized it. Something was clearly malfunctioning on the Windows end of things. Be sure to adjust your Baud rate in the software to be sufficiently high and use the device manager in windows to ensure you are using the correct port. In the end all of my difficulties had nothing to do with the project but rather either Windows or faulty components from 3rd party vendors online. The administrator is very friendly and helpful. The project functions as described as long as you are patient and follow the instructions carefully.
  • It's great to have a free project of this type. There are not many similar projects. It is hoped that the author will not refuse the project, but on the contrary, he updates it regularly. I wish him a lot of success in life and maybe he'll open the code sometimes for us. Thanks for your donated time. J.
  • Have it running after only 2 days. This is a very well done project and I've really enjoyed playing with it. The only real issue I had was getting it to connect to my USB port. I'm not sure but It seems that updating the port number and then restarting the viewer fixed the issue. I worked for Spacelabs on a Holter project that used cassette tapes. the results were processed on a machine called the "Arrhythmia Master". We were working on a digital version of the recorder when my our group was moved from Hillsboro to Redmond so I didn't get to finish the digital version. Thank you so much for doing this, it brought many memories of working on the 90201 recorder.
