# EasyOS Space Guard

A small, read-only disk space checker for EasyOS Excalibur.

EasyOS Space Guard displays the free space on the working partition and estimates the space used by versions and snapshots, SFS packages, personal files, containers, AppImages, Flatpaks and the saved session. It helps users understand where their storage is being used before they update EasyOS.

## Usage

Open the graphical overview:

```sh
./easyos-space-guard.sh
```

Run a check suitable for an update workflow:

```sh
./easyos-space-guard.sh --check-update
```

The check exits with `0` when at least 3000 MiB is free, `2` when less space is available, and `3` when it cannot measure the working partition. It does not start an update.

**The 3000 MiB threshold is a precaution, not a guarantee that an update will fit.** A reliable answer for a specific update would also require the updater to calculate the space needed for its downloads, temporary files and snapshot.

## Project goal

The goal is to make storage warnings understandable to new EasyOS users. A possible future integration would run this check when the user clicks the EasyOS **update** icon, before the update proceeds. That integration is a proposal; it is not part of EasyOS at present.

The script does not delete files or modify the installation. It requires EasyOS and Xdialog for its graphical view.
