IEEE 1278 Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) and IEEE 1516 High-Level Architecture (HLA) are standards for connecting individual simulators in larger exercises or federations to increase the capability and/or number of participants in the simulation. These standards and others are developed and maintained by the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO).

The source herein implements some of the basic techniques that enable simulation interoperability such as dead reckoning and Earth coordinate conversion. It can be used as is, modified, or studied as a reference implementation.
