CSS3 Patterns is a gallery of repeating backgrounds created primarily with CSS gradients instead of image files. Selecting a pattern expands its presentation and exposes editable CSS so visitors can study or adapt the technique. The project emphasizes compact code, fewer HTTP requests, and reasonable complexity rather than reproducing every possible visual effect. Contributors can propose new patterns, but submissions are evaluated for originality, efficiency, usefulness, and appearance.
