CleanMyMac is often regarded as one of the most recognized maintenance tools for macOS, but in my version of the story, I imagine it as an open-source project freely available to everyone. Instead of being locked behind a license or subscription, this “community edition” would allow any Mac user to access the full range of cleaning and optimization features without restrictions. I described how the app could evolve if the global developer community contributed to its growth: frequent updates, transparent code, and collaborative improvements. In this vision, CleanMyMac would not only remove unnecessary files, monitor system health, and optimize performance, but it would also stand as a symbol of shared knowledge and accessibility. Anyone could audit the code, propose changes, or adapt the tool for personal needs.
