This circuit is similar to one shown approximately on July 28,2009 on http://fatmanandcircuitgirl.com streaming video show. It uses the LTSpice free simulator. To see the transistor currents switching on and off just hit the "run" button in LTSpice. You should get a plot of three wave forms which are the currents going through the 3 LED branches of the circuit. LTSpice (proprietary but free SPICE3 simulator) can be gotten from http://www.linear.com/designtools/software/ltspice.jsp Files: Multivibrator-Multistage.asc - Primary LTSpice schematic file Multivibrator-Multistage.raw - Plot file that LTSpice will pull in. It show the currents through the LED's Note: You can tweak the values and still get the circuit to work. If you build the circuit in real life you can use part values that are in the same ballpark. Especially note that you can speed up and slow down the pulsing by varying the capacitor and/or the 50k resistor.
