Added
- Settings → New sessions: the permission mode new agents start in. The New session dialog and the New agent sheet open on it, and a session started without choosing one (the project terminal's "New session here", a quick chat) starts in it. Unset, nothing changes.
make app-local: try a change to the Mac app without a release. It builds this checkout's app for the Mac's own architecture, installs it over/Applications/Caprock.appand relaunches it; the app then moves the daemon onto the build it carries, and running sessions carry on. Stamped<last tag>-dev+<commit>, which About Caprock shows and the update notice does not mistake for an old release. About half a minute once the build cache is warm.make app-local-revertgoes back to the released app.
Changed
- One permission question in the app, not two. When a session's terminal is in front, its own "Do you want to proceed?" menu is where you answer — press Enter — and Caprock no longer draws its approval card above the status strip for it. The card still shows when the chat or a Changes view covers the terminal, and now says ↵ Enter in the terminal = Yes; other tabs' prompts still reach you through the Inbox, the menu bar, the notification and the phone.
- Keys on the permission card.
Yor Enter is Yes,Athe "don't ask again" option when there is one,Nor Esc is No, shown on the buttons. They never fire while you are typing in the terminal or a field.
Fixed
- "Yes, for the rest of this session" no longer rejects the call. The
button typed
2, assuming Claude Code's usual menu; in auto mode the dialog is "1. Yes 2. No", so it answered No and the tool call was lost. Every permission button now reads the menu on the session's screen and presses the option whose text matches; when that option is not there, it types nothing and the card says that option is not on the prompt — answer in the terminal. -
A permission card answers the dialog it shows. Each new permission request (a subagent's too) replaced the last, so a card could name one request while its key landed in another's dialog. Requests now queue the way Claude Code queues them: the card shows the oldest, says how many more wait, and a later request never overwrites an earlier one.
-
Upgrading the Mac app now upgrades its daemon too. An app started on a new release kept the daemon of its own from the old one running until that was too old to talk to. It now puts the daemon it carries in place once per launch when the two differ; sessions keep running.
- Quitting the app with SIGTERM (
kill, a script) now quits it the way Cmd+Q does, keeping the window's size and place. - A live session's Changes tab no longer flashes "loading…" on every event. Each new event re-read the diff as if it were a new question, blanking the list and drawing new rows, so a click on a file or on "expand all" in that moment was lost. The list now stays on screen while it is read again.
- App shortcuts act on what is on screen. A key pressed in the instant after the sidebar updated could act on the state before it: ⌘J said nothing was waiting with a waiting session in the list, and ⌘T asked to add a project with one already there.
- The app's status strip shows the daemon's real version. It was read once when the page loaded, so after the app swapped its daemon it kept the old number. It is now read again whenever the live link reconnects and when the window regains focus.
- Continuing a session keeps the permission mode it was running in. A
session run with permissions skipped (
--dangerously-skip-permissions) came back from "continue here" or "branch here" in the default mode, asking before every command. Caprock now continues it in the mode its hooks last reported — bypass, accept edits, plan — and says which beside the button, where it can be changed before continuing. A session with no recorded mode uses the setting under Added above.
