Added

  • Download links for the desktop app that never change. Every release now also carries the app under names without the version — Caprock-macOS.dmg, Caprock-Windows-setup.exe, Caprock-Linux.AppImage, Caprock-Linux.deb and Caprock-Linux.rpm — so https://github.com/dspv/caprock/releases/latest/download/Caprock-macOS.dmg always fetches the newest build. The versioned files stay, and checksums.txt lists both. A release is marked Latest only once all of them are attached, so a link never points at a release still being built.

Changed

  • Terminal defaults follow the JetBrains IDE terminal: JetBrains Mono at 13 px, line height 1.2 (was 1.15), Regular and Bold weights. Terminal settings you already saved are kept as they are.

Fixed

  • The terminal's font looks like JetBrains Mono again, in every glyph. In the macOS app, digits, capitals and punctuation came out heavier and brighter than the letters beside them, at random, for as long as the terminal was open: the WebGL renderer drew some glyphs outside the page and some inside it, and WebKit rendered the two differently. Every glyph is now drawn the same way. The app terminal also asks for every part of the face (Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Vietnamese; regular and bold) before it opens, instead of measuring whatever had loaded, and measures and redraws itself when a face finishes loading. Ligatures are off in every terminal, so => and !== show the characters that were typed.
  • A permission prompt survives a daemon crash, not only a restart. The prompt an owned session was waiting on was stored in the background after the hook that drew it had been answered, so a daemon killed in that moment — a crash, or any stop on Windows, which has no graceful one — came back with the dialog still on the session's screen and no buttons to answer it. The prompt is now stored before the hook is answered.

  • Dropping a file on a terminal in the desktop app works. The app's native drag-and-drop handler took every drop, so a file dragged from Finder onto a session did nothing. The app now types the file's real path, quoted, into the terminal under the pointer, as a terminal does: nothing is uploaded, any file or folder goes, and Claude works on the original rather than a copy. In a browser a drop still uploads, as before. Tabs in the app's tab strip reorder by dragging again (they could not while the native handler was on).

  • macOS: one "caprock" in Privacy & Security, not one per release. The Homebrew daemon runs from a new Cellar path every release, and macOS lists every path as another program; agent sessions ask for folder access in the daemon's name. The app now runs its own daemon from one path in the data directory and moves a running Homebrew daemon onto it once (unless the Homebrew one is newer; "own_daemon": false in app.json keeps it). Sessions keep running through the move. Each release still asks once until Caprock is signed with a Developer ID. ADR-040
  • The app no longer aborts when the daemon stops while the menu bar popover is still loading its first page. It asked the WebView for its URL, which a page that never committed does not have, and wry unwraps it on the main thread.
  • Test, bench and preview daemons stay out of Desktop, Documents and Downloads. A daemon running with a temporary HOME no longer watches or runs git in those folders of the real account, even with a copy of the real database, so it never raises a privacy prompt; the bench stand refuses to live there.
