Codex sessions now all carry a price. v0.54.0 shipped with 83% of Codex tokens costing nothing, because it read the model from the obvious field — present in 4 transcripts out of 100. The other 96 record it elsewhere, as an explicit model id rather than a hint, so both are read now and every session that used tokens can be priced. A session that names no model anywhere still keeps its tokens and no cost, rather than an invented one.

A test daemon read the machine's real Codex transcripts. The smoke test asserts exact turn and cost figures, and on a developer machine with Codex installed it was importing that person's actual sessions and counting them. It turns the import off, as it already did for OpenCode.
