Release Notes for CAM version 2.1 This release contains significant enhancements and improvements for the CAMV validation engine. Additionally this release introduces SQL table lookup validations and cleanup and consolidation of code list handling. The new CAMV validation engine V2.0 contains the following highlights: o SQL table lookup validation via JDBC connection o Improved error handling and reporting o Improved memory management and performance optimizations o Improved control and format of syslog output o Support for Spring API and validation results handler o Simpler Ant scripting and test suite implementation o Example test suites including NIEM SARs, OASIS EML and SQL DB table lookup In addition the SQL table lookup function is integrated with the CAM Editor through enhancements to the CAMV test run wizard and with setup and configuration wizards for lookup tables and lists. CAM version 2.1 provides XML developers with dramatically improved capabilities for building comprehensive XML test suites rapidly and easily. These test suites can support not only high volume pre-deployment testing of XML instances but also enable production deployment of a XML validation framework that includes live runtime checking of dynamic data through SQL table lookups and extensive content crosschecking using XPath rules. Having proven test suites and example sets also facilitates sharing with exchange partners and then rapid regression testing of new interface changes. Put together this provides the ability to deliver high quality exchanges that are robust, interoperable and meet the business needs more precisely. Additionally by ensuring consistent front end validation using configurable fault tolerant templates this reduces the amount of backend integration burden and hand coding needed. Also rules identifying and signalling particular content conditions early allows better workflow integration and action handling. Original Release Notes for CAM version 2.0 The full v2.0 release is a major enhancement that delivers many new features and significant improvements. The aim is to set the foundation for delivering on the CAM vision of XML content assembly of information exchanges from dictionary component sets. Highlights for this release include: o Drag and drop assembly of exchange structures from sets of dictionary canonical components o Support for modelling with UML/XMI and FreeMind MindMap tools o Cross platform deployment - Windows, *NIX and MacOs in 32bit and 64bit executables o New visual editor with color coding, 3x performance increase and 50% less memory use o Enhanced and improved NIEM IEPD production features and NIEM dictionary collections o Dictionary harvesting from schema and dictionary compiling for drag and drop tool use o External codelist generation and support o Support for branding, delivery packaging and NIEM features development from Oracle o Standalone CAMV 1.1.4 validation engine and ANT batch scripts testing environment Together these improvements allow people to fully integrate their exchange schema development from dictionaries of components to exchange schema structures. Then align with modelling documentation and designs, while automating the production of actual exchange schema and XML instance test suites. Windows 32bit and 64bit installers are provided. *Note on Windows 7 you maybe need to set the property in the shortcut - Run as Administrator.
