A Replaceable Database Driver ( RDD ) for Harbour family of compilers connecting Cache Database Server ( http://www.intersystems.com ) as a data backend.

Harbour (http://www.harbour-project.org) is an open source, 32-64 bit, Clipper successor which consumes 100% of Clipper code "as is" plus offers a lot more functionality required for modern day developments.

Replaceable Database Driver is a protocol where same set of DLM commands can talk to different database backend. This protocol was defined and perfected by Clipper decades before.

Cache Database Server is published by Intersystems and is said to be worlds fastest object database.

CacheRDD connects a Harbour application with Cache Database Server without any code changes, except for a couple of missing operations, i.e., filters and relations.

CacheRDD has been in development and production since 2006 at Curacao (http://www.icuracao.com) and, by their courtesy, is made available as open-source.
