Build Your Own Mint is a Node.js project for creating a personal finance analytics workflow using Plaid, Google Sheets, and scheduled automation. Plaid retrieves transaction information from linked financial institutions after the user configures their own API credentials. Google Sheets acts as the storage and presentation layer for the imported financial data. A customizable transformation module lets users decide how transactions should map into spreadsheet cells and categories. Account tokens and service credentials are stored through local environment configuration rather than committed to the repository. CircleCI configuration can run updates automatically on a daily schedule, although manual execution is also supported. The project is intended as a customizable personal alternative to hosted financial dashboards rather than a finished consumer application.

Features

  • Plaid transaction importing
  • Google Sheets data storage
  • Custom transaction transformation logic
