RC1 Release of the Breeze::OS 2.1 64-bit GNU/Linux distribution which is based on the Slackware64 14.2 release. The Xfce, KDE, Mate, and Lxde desktops are offered. Booting, both in BIOS and EFI mode, is done using Syslinux. This release is not totally production ready. If you have 1Gig or more of memory, you should be able to install the SquashFS packages to a hard-drive, and encrypt your installation; by invoking the Breeze::OS installer in session mode, from the Display Manager session. Select the Breeze::OS installer session by pressing <F1> or by clicking on the arrow button. If you encounter a problem where booting stops in the INITRD phase; invoke the command 'cat /proc/mounts' and issue a problem report to bugs@breezeos.com Use the d-make-liveusb.sh file to write the ISO to a USB/Flash drive. d-make-liveusb.sh -o </dev/sdX> -i <path to isofile> where /dev/sdX is the Linux path to the USB drive. When the official release is complete, and the release metatata is uploaded. You will be able to convert a Slackware64 installation to a Breeze::OS one, as described in the following paragraph. If you are currently running a Slackware 14.2 64-bit installation; and you wish to convert it to a Breeze::OS one; you should download the brzpkg package; and invoke the runself version of the package manager, by issuing the command: brzpkg-x64.run -- -u 2.1:amd64 --origin slackware Otherwise, if you are already running our dsitribution, invoke the command: brzpkg-x64.run -- -u 2.1:amd64 Make sure to be in console mode, before issuing the command.
