BotDan compreende uma plataforma de suporte ao desenvolvimento de chatterbots que utilizam a linguagem Artificial Intelligence Markup Language (AIML) na estruturação de suas bases de conhecimento.

Baseado na ferramenta Program#, BotDan é desenvolvido através da linguagem C# utilizando a tecnologia Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) que incorpora a plataforma Microsoft .NET. Seu executável é compatível com o Sistema Operacional Microsoft Windows (versão Vista ou superior).

O código é estruturado de acordo com o Design Pattern Model-View-Controller (MVC) onde separa-se a lógica de aplicação da apresentação dos resultados.

Dotado de uma interface gráfica amigável. BotDan possibilita o teste de bases de conhecimento AIML em um formato dinâmico. E com pequenas alterações o BotDan pode ser incluído em páginas Web, etc.
