Waydroid-Linux - Beta - Vanilla Edition

We have finally made it to the first beta of our Ubuntu/Waydroid Remix, third release that is based off Ubuntu Impish Indri (21.10). By default, we include the default Ubuntu session, as well as a few waydroid centric sessions when you login (user: live, pass: password).

Please Note In order to get Waydroid to work, you need to install the iso using the packaged installer (Install System) from live mode, then once installed, you are ready to go. This includes the vanilla Waydroid 17.1 in the images, so you do not need internet connection to get your droid on.

Based on Ubuntu 20.10, stripped down to almost nothing. Kernel 5.13.x

Wayland Sessions with Waydroid (Now configurable through using configure_launch_type.sh script) :

Ubuntu (Modified Unity UI, with autohiding top and bottom bars. Launch Waydroid via icon in app drawer)
Waydroid on Mutter (Launches Waydroid in full-screen-ui mode in Mutter session)
Waydroid on Weston (Launches Waydroid in full-screen-ui mode in a Weston session)
Weston (Default Weston session)

Bugs:

Issue: Sometimes a window rotates the display. Fix: Use F11 to force into Freeform mode, or use Set Orientation app to force orientation.
Issue: After an update, the colors in Waydroid are inverted. Fix: We included a manual update script to rebuild mutter and patch. Run "trigger-update.sh"
