IMPORTANT UPDATE TO INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING GUI MODE

AS OF 19 MAY 2026, THE ISO IMAGE LACKS THE DISPLAY MANAGER
I TESTED THE LXDE DESKTOP IS WORKING WELL WITH OPENBOX
USE THESE CODE IN YOUR TERMINAL

    su -
    apt update
    apt install openbox -y
    exit

Then reboot the system, it will boot straight into the lxde desktop 13 environment
If issue persists, visit the devuan forum. Besides, in the CLI before the GUI is installed,
the default user devuan will show devuan is not in sudoers file. Just type
su -
password: toor

Beep OS is built on minimal-live image of the devuan 6 release. It includes server packages:

9) PHP + PHP Server
10) Apache
11) GNU SQL
And many more program to look at, just live boot and enjoy on your existing storage without messing up your current setup.

Works on most computers with tested RAM usage without applications at 700MBytes and idled CPUs. Needs around 20GB of Hard Disk Space.
Follows the standard Devuan Refracta installer CLI. Just type refractainstaller in the cli to install. Then to boot into desktop, by
installing tasksel
type startlxqt or what the LXQT community provides, one may contact the developer by raising issue in the devuan community
