Basalt Linux

Basalt Linux is a Debian 13 (Trixie) based immutable Linux distribution designed for developers and privacy-conscious users. It features a read-only SquashFS root filesystem, atomic A/B slot updates with GPG-signed block-level delta sync, and boot-time self-healing via SHA-256 integrity verification. Security includes full UEFI Secure Boot with Shim + MOK, LUKS2 disk encryption, and a built-in CVE scanner. The developer workflow is powered by Distrobox/Podman containers and Flatpak, all managed through the basaltctl CLI. The desktop experience runs on KDE Plasma 6 with custom branding, themes, and boot splash. Supports both UEFI (x64) and Legacy BIOS boot.
