The program itself is contained in the zip file "backupband.zip". You'll also need the sampled instruments used by BackupBand's drummer, bassist, guitarist, and background keyboardist. If you set your soundcard to 44KHz or 88KHz sample rate, then download the file "instruments_44k.zip". If you set your soundcard to 48KHz or 96KHz sample rate, then download the file "instruments_48k.zip" instead. If you use both sets of sample rates, then you can download both files. Download "manual.zip" for the instruction manual. "extra_44k.zip" and "extra_48k.zip" are optional, extra instruments. You have the option whether you wish to download/install them To install, simply unzip these files to your Home folder. This should create a folder named "BackupBand" containing lots of files and other folders. Double-click on the file named "BackupBand" to run the program. Read "backupband.htm" in the Docs folder. Note: If you want to create a USB thumb drive version of BackupBand, simply copy the entire unzipped BackupBand folder to the thumb drive. Requires Cairo and XWindows.
