What's new

ARK internet calls are now in the public release. Create an ARK code in Settings, share it, link a friend's code on their contact card, and calls between you go over the internet — free, end-to-end encrypted (WebRTC with DTLS-SRTP), phone to phone. When the other phone cannot be reached the very same call goes over your carrier, so a call always goes through. An incoming ARK call rings on a locked, sleeping phone. Until you create a code the app makes no network connection at all; see the README for what the signaling server sees.

Nine new languages: Swedish, German, French, Spanish, Estonian, Russian, Portuguese, Italian and Polish, alongside English and Finnish. The app follows the device language; Android 13 and newer can pick a language per app.

Backup to a file. Settings → Backup saves your settings, blocking rules, speed dials, your ARK code with its linked contacts and the WhatsApp call history into one file, password-protected by default, and restores it on the same or another phone. Before anything is replaced, the restore shows which ARK code and how many linked contacts the file brings. Calls, messages and contacts are not included; they stay in Android's own backup.

Do Not Disturb now treats an ARK call from a starred contact like a carrier call from that contact: the incoming-call notification names the caller, so the "calls from contacts" exceptions match it.

The README has been rewritten and the step-by-step instructions moved to a user guide.

Update from 1.27 in place; the APK carries the same signature and your data is kept. Requires Android 8.0 or newer.
