Configure a listener on the ant command line, like ...

ant -listener net.sf.anttimer.Timer

When the build is finished, use your browser to see in the generated html where Apache Ant is spending all that time.

You'll see
1) a chronological tree,
2) a tree with the slowest subbuilds/targets/tasks
3) a list of the tasks where most time is spent.
