The original aim was to write a simple image viewer to show exact pixel values, both as text and as an image without colour conversions, antialiasing, or other artefacts. Efficiency and render quality came second.

'xterm' supports ANSI with 24-bit Truecolour, Unicode, and mouse actions. AnsiTerm can run on terminals without these. See AnsiView.txt for more details. A pure text application should compile simply on most machines. It can show large images over SSH without having to transmit the whole image.

AnsiView has native support for the FL32 image format. This is a very simple floating-point image format. See fl32.txt for more details. ImageMagick supports the FL32 format. AnsiView can call
ImageMagick to read and write other formats.

Buids under MacOS with ImageMagic support. Builds under Linux but ImageMagic support may need customisation. Not built on Windows yet.

A low-code dashboard makes monitoring intuitive for any admin, while scripting and custom sensors give experts full control.

You shouldn't have to choose between a monitoring tool that's easy to use and one that's powerful enough for a complex environment. PRTG's low-code interface lets any admin build dashboards, set alerts and monitor devices without scripting, while custom sensors and full API access are there when your team needs deeper control. One platform, no compromise. Download a free 30-day trial now.
