Amine is a Java Open Source Platform, suited for Ontology-based applications,
Conceptual Graph based applications, intelligent systems, and Multi-Agents Systems.
Amine is composed of four layers: 1) the kernel which provides APIs and GUI for the
creation and edition of multi-lingua ontology, 2) The algebraic layer which provides 
several structures and operations including Conceptual Graph (CG) Algebra. It provides 
also GUIs for the edition of CG and the application of CG operations,
3) The Engines layer which contains three engines: dynamic formation and update
of an ontology, Prolog+CG which is an extension of Prolog language, and Synergy which is
a visual language based on CG activation, and 4) a multi-Agents Systems layer.

Amine Java source code has been compiled with JDK 1.4.2

Amine platform is hosted by sourceforge.net:

Download and decompress Amine3.zip. It contains the Java source code in "src" directory, 
the APIs documentation in "docAPIs" directory, the compiled code in "classes" directory and 
the batch-file "runAmineSuite.bat" that we use to get AmineSuiteGUI. AmineSuiteGUI provides 
an access to all the GUIs, the samples, and the tests available currently in the platform. 

Each user should set his/her own batch-file depending on the path of the JDK used. On Windows, 
you can modify "runAmineSuite.bat" to take into account your JDK path.
A similar file can be created for operating systems other than Windows.

We include the directory "classes" that contains the result of the compilation of
the source code, for persons that wish a direct use of the Platform, without touching 
Java. 

Amine3.zip contains also External package(s) used by Amine Platform are: jdom-b8.jar which 
corresponds to JDOM version 1.0 Beta 7, (c) Jason Hunter and Brett McLaughlin
JDOM license: BSD/Apache style, see //www.jdom.org/ for more detail.


Download and decompress Amine3WebSite.zip. It contains the Amine Web Site which provides valuable
documentation on Amine platform and its components.
