What's Changed

Welcome to the release of AliasVault v0.23.0! πŸŽ‰

This update brings major improvements for self-hosted setups, new mobile app features, and a number of UI refinements and bug fixes across all platforms. The AliasVault GitHub repo has also officially moved to the new AliasVault GitHub organization.

[!IMPORTANT]
🚨 For self-hosted users: AliasVault has moved from lanedirt/AliasVault to the new GitHub organization aliasvault/aliasvault. This also affects Docker image locations. Please read the upgrade documentation before updating.

Highlights of this release

  1. Documentation for new all-in-one Docker image
  2. By popular request, AliasVault now provides an all-in-one Docker image. This makes it easier to run AliasVault with simple Docker/Docker Compose setups, or even directly on NAS devices like QNAP or Synology. This update makes this new image globally available: updated installation and migration instructions are now available in our docs: https://docs.aliasvault.net/installation.

  3. Project migration to new GitHub organization + OpenCollective

  4. AliasVault is no longer under lanedirt/AliasVault and now belongs to the dedicated aliasvault GitHub organization.
The project is also now live on OpenCollective: https://opencollective.com/aliasvault: you can support ongoing development through transparent donations (and also by spreading the word!).

  5. Mobile app improvements

  6. Password generator settings (length, complexity, etc.) are now configurable directly from the mobile app; no need to log into the web app first.
  7. Mobile apps can now export your vault to CSV, even in offline mode. This means if your server is unavailable, you can still access and safely back up your credentials.

  8. UI and usability updates

  9. Browser extension UI now uses standardized font sizes for a cleaner, more consistent look.
  10. Added a password visibility toggle to login screens in the web app, browser extension, and mobile apps.
  11. Improved touch/trackpad input handling in the mobile app.
  12. Admin panel: inactive user flags and cleanup tasks have been added.
  13. Web app: credentials can now be sorted alphabetically, and login pages display the current app version.

  14. Bug fixes and under-the-hood improvements

  15. Reverse proxy now auto-reloads when SSL certs are updated, preventing expired SSL warnings.
  16. Fixed issues with mobile click registration, language switcher on small screens, breadcrumb duplication, and DateTime parsing in some locales.
  17. Docker images now include OpenContainers annotations for better ecosystem compatibility.
