  • AdventureText is great for what it is. It is a simple RPG running in a single window in which the player types textual commands, and is given back textual descriptions and feedback updating them on the current state of the game. Everything in the game is turn-based, and nothing moves unless the player moves. It is only one Quest long, and has all the major facets of a roleplaying game. You can buy weapons, armor and items, you can explore the dungeon and fight monsters, you can open chests to find powerful gear, and there's even a boss fight or two. There are characters to talk to and interact with, and despite its simplicity, or maybe because of it, AdventureText is an enjoyable game to play and finish in a few minutes. The graphics are all in your head, and this tiny game has a certain kind of charm that'll remind you of the "good-ol'-days" of Text Adventures, if you were around for them.
