Administrative Divisions of China is a structured dataset covering the five administrative levels of the People's Republic of China. It includes provinces, prefecture-level cities, counties and districts, townships and streets, and village-level committees. Data is distributed in JSON and CSV formats for direct use in applications and databases. The repository also provides combined hierarchical datasets for linked province, city, district, township, and village selectors. Records include administrative codes and parent-level relationships so developers can reconstruct geographic hierarchies. The latest dataset is based on 2023 statistical division codes, with a cutoff of June 30, 2023. The project is no longer updated because the relevant detailed statistical codes stopped being publicly released after policy changes in 2024.
