AdbTether 0.1.1
The first release whose in-app updater actually works.
Fixed
- Update check finds the installer again. The updater looked for a release asset named
*Setup*.exeand launched it with the Inno Setup/SILENTswitch, but releases ship a WiX MSI only. The download URL therefore came back empty and the install never started. It now matches any*.msiasset. - The install step runs the MSI. Updates are launched as
msiexec /i "<file>" /passive, elevated through therunasverb, because the per-machine package installs theAdbTetherServiceservice and needs administrator rights. - A release with no
.msiasset reports a clear error instead of failing with an opaque message.
Install
Download AdbTether-0.1.1.msi below and run it. Windows will ask for elevation: the package is per-machine and installs the AdbTetherService service with Automatic start.
:::powershell
msiexec /i AdbTether-0.1.1.msi # GUI
msiexec /i AdbTether-0.1.1.msi /qn # silent
msiexec /x AdbTether-0.1.1.msi /qn # silent uninstall
Upgrading from 0.1.0 happens in place: both releases share the same UpgradeCode, and 0.1.1 is the version the app's Settings > Check for updates offers.
Notes
- The MSI is not code-signed, so SmartScreen may warn on first run.
- Requires Windows 10 1809 (build 17763) or newer, x64.
- Tunnelling needs a device authorised for ADB and administrator rights for the Wintun adapter.
