AdbTether v0.1.0
Share an Android phone's internet connection with a Windows PC — no root on the phone, and no proxy app on the PC.
The PC's full L3 traffic (TCP + UDP) is routed through the phone over a
WebSocket tunnel reached via adb forward. AdbTether installs a Wintun virtual
adapter and drives a user-space TCP/IP stack; a small Rust proxy (ws-proxy) is
pushed to the phone on demand.
Highlights
- Full TCP + UDP tunnel — not just a SOCKS/HTTP proxy; the whole L3 stack goes through the phone.
- No root, nothing installed on the phone —
ws-proxyis pushed over ADB and run on demand. - Fail-closed — if the tunnel drops, the PC stays on it (routes and DNS kept) instead of silently falling back to the physical network.
- Clean exit — closing the app makes the service tear the tunnel down and restore the normal network.
- Reaches the phone's VPN and survives Android power management.
- WinUI 3 desktop app: ADB pairing/connect dialogs, live traffic charts and a log viewer.
