9jaCoder Code Editor (9CE) is a Python IDE that lets you write fully functional programmes in Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Fulfulde, French, or English, translating native-language syntax to standard Python at runtime.
With over 200 million Nigerians and fewer than a third fluent in English, the English prerequisite for coding has locked most of the country out of the digital economy. 9CE removes that barrier entirely.
Features include multilingual syntax highlighting, smart native-language autocomplete, a visual Python package manager, one-click compilation to standalone executables, and smart import management. Arabic support with full RTL is in development.
Built by Artmanntech Solutions under Project ISLI, the Indigenous Software Literacy Initiative, 9CE is grounded in academic research presented at the National Engineering Conference, Abuja 2022, and aligned with Vygotsky’s Social Development Theory and Cummins' Linguistic Interdependence Theory.
9CE equally supports RAD.
