The DX-7 sounds of zynaddsubfx are really great.
When playing DX-7-Rodes-sounds a hold pedal
gets excessively used.
Unfortunately, this currently leads to a weird
behaviour. First the sound starts to crackle, then
zyn eats all of the CPU power. Due to the fact that
JACK runs in realtime mode, this causes the
machine to be hardly switched off by the power
switch.
* When holding down the hold pedal and playing
some notes with a dx-7 rhodes, the CPU load gets
high. Now I keep the pedal presses until all notes
have passed the release time. After that, the CPU
load is still as high as before, regardless that I
cannot hear anything from the speakers. It would
be great if zyn recognized that notes are now
finished and would free these notes from the
sound generator.
* When holding down the hold pedal and playing
some notes with a dx-7 rhodes, the CPU load gets
high. When playing more notes while keeping the
pedal pressed the sound starts to crackle and
when plaing even more notes the complete
machine freezes due to JACK running in realtime
mode. It would be great if Zyn would start to cut
older notes as soon as the CPU load gets high
instead of start to crackle or even freezing the
machine.
