#115 "link slide" jumps to nearby nodes/edges

I am using SVN 3875 (24/09/2010).
Spec: Linux, Sun Java 1.6.0_20-b02 64bit, 8 GByte RAM, Core2Quad 2,66 GHz (Q9450)

When using the "link slide" feature on some long edge (e.g. the connected nodes are far apart), the small circle denoting the current edge jumps to a nearby edge as soon as some other (unrelated) not is close. This makes traversing the leftmost edge in the attached graph nearly impossible, although this is the only edge where the feature is useful.
