Sorry for posting this bug report too early. I am not used to SF's tracker (which, to be honest, is slow as hell and hard to use even with a degree in computer science...).
zgrview shows text out of a node's bound even if it should be in there. The same file is shown correctly in inkscape, whereas Firefox (and Safari? Cannot test this right now) have similar problems.

It seems inkscape is able to show nodes with "Times New Roman", whereas zgrviewer does not. I now configured my dot export to specify Nimbus Roman, which also looks correct in zgrviewer. Since Times New Roman is the default font for dotty, I seriously expect zgrviwer to know that font.
