StartDB and Zocalo.bat are not working

Dear Sir,
My name is Esayas.I am a masters student in Global Innovation Management at Technical University of Hamburg , Germany and I am working on Prediction markets for my graduation thesis.I downloaded zocalo-PM-2009.3a-Setup.exe and run it as per the installation instruction.When I double click the StartDB file , a command line opens and closes immediately.I took screen image as attached and for the Zocalo.bat file also , a command line Opens and closes after few seconds.For your information, I am using windows vista Home premium .

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I have been dealing with a family emergency.
Esayas and I have been exchanging messages out-of-band. He sent some screen shots that seem to show that startDB may have worked once, and was only failing subsequently because there is an existing server. I've asked for copies of the log files so I can see more details about the main server's problems.
