i've had this with 2 of the 3 times i installed Zenith
Picture Gallery, on 3 different servers. Once
installed, you ar unable to upload any pictures, and
get a 'The file could not be moved. Make sure you
chmoded the required directories to 777.' even though i
chmodded the already. Even when you chmod the entire
installation to 777, it still gives the same error.

Make sure your Uploads directory path and Uploads directory
server path are set up correctly.

I am also getting this, i have root access, since i own this server, iv'e had this
problem with redhat-based linux distros only ( 2x Fedora Core, 1x RH
enterprise linux ), strangely.. i also had the script on a FreeBSD box, and it
    worked fine, same setup..

anyway so i chmodded everything in my webserver root to 777, just to see
what would happen, and uh. nothing!

I have made sure that everything is set up correctly on the script's part, and i
do not have any restrictions on my webserver, why restrict myself? :P

So yeah, this gallery script, honestly, it's awesome! ...when it doesn't crap out.
    Please look into this.

ok! i found out what has been causing this thing! For some reason, the add
catagory option on the admin panel of the script doesn't always create all the
folders needed, which is causing this issue. If you forgot to chmod one or
more files when installing, and it does complete, you are left with the trouble
of figuring out what exactly you had to do to make it work. I quickly figured
out that the folders in uploads were missing, but due to the rather odd folder
naming they didn't seem to be the problem, i say seem, because, where every
linux user/admin i know avoids whitespaces and capital letters at the start of
any file or folder name at all, this was not the case with this script. as a
suggestion for a next release: name everything lowercase, and no
whitespaces, or find a way to replace them; eg: make a folder named
"test_folder" show up as "test folder" in the gallery. Just my 2 cents. This fixed
all of my upload trouble. so im a happy man now :P Thanks for making
something as great as this, i can't wait to see ver. 1.0 ;)

upload directory. Would that give the same error message ?

Hi, Sorry for the extremely late reply. I seem to have forgotten about the bug log here on sourceforge. Thanks
for the suggestion; that'll be included for sure in v0.9.4 DEV.

As was mentioned in my other post, the error message really needs to be more specific. I'll work on that :)
