I see one or two situations where a user does want to be able to create a sub-category in a super-category that contains already some flashcards, though.
E.g. a user has created a category with many flashcards. After a while, the user decides that it is better to distribute these over 2 sub-categories. In this case it makes sense to create a sub-category in a category containing entries already.
One other thought: disabling the feature doesn't add functionality in itself; it doesn't hurt the users who don't need it, but it does help the users who want it (I use it for a few to memorize some baisc/general words that do not fit in other sub-categories).
So, although I appreciate the idea, my suggestion is still: let the user themselves choose whether to add entries to super-categories or not and whether to add sub-categories to categories already containing entries. In short, leave this feature as it is in the current ZDT version.

I was unsure about these as well. I was not thinking much of the other users, only my ideas. Since I have never contributed to an open source project before, I will have to think before I remove a feature.

This is good thinking.

Oliver, nobody is perfect ;) I agree with Michael that it's better to let the user choose to have a greater flexibility.
