I'm no expert in this field. Make sure you have bug-buddy in the path,
if still doesn't work, I'll take a look to the appropiate code in Gnome.
What version of the Gnome libraries are you using?

Well, I'm not going to put the bug back. But the attached hack will let
you change the overlay color (perhaps it needs a bit of tweaking, works
for me).

Not the most intuitive keys, I admit that :-)

I'm not specially eager for adding this feature,
but I would accept a patch (it's a pretty trivial thing to do, the hard
part is finding the right keys :-))
