I also check by closing all other windows on screen and just having one A-term
with top in it, and Zapping, neither of them overlaying the other.  Still
causes the excess CPU usage.

What confuses me, though, is why does SETI@Home have to be running, even if
it's on another *text console*, forked into the background or not, verbose or
quiet mode, to cause this?
