cvs version of zapping (as of 10/1/2002) doesn't give sound on redhat-8.0. I also get an "unknown error" message window when starting zapping.

zapping --debug shows:
"XV overlay detection: Failed"
right at the time the "unknown error" msg window pops up.

The full --debug output attached.
(cmd: zapping --debug > zapping.debug 2>&1)

I also have the same problem, no sound and the error
message popping up when starting zapping. Any solutions?

Seeing similar here on RH8 except sound is ok (its a
    hauppage wintv
pci and the sound loops back into line-in on the soundcard).

Zapping was working ok, apart from this error on startup,
until i updated the kernel to 2.4.18-24.8.0 when it
completely fell to pieces now giving the error 'VBI is
    disable or doesnt work'.

A quick test using xawtv seems fine.

Forgot to include zapping console output ...

    Error: v4linterface.c (511) [z_switch_input]:
Couldn't find input with hash 9a87e109

    i really miss zapping :-(
