As of 20.08.2002., the KAON has moved http://sourceforge.net/projects/kaon. We kindly ask all users and developers to update their environment.

KAON v1.1b7 brings significant performance improvements in the evolution strategy implementation. These imrpovements are visible when working with large ontologies. However, the server perofrmance still remains an issue.

If you plan to use KAON Portal in Tomcat container, then make sure your Tomcat install path doesn't contain spaces. Otherwise, due to a bug in JDK1.4.0_01 URI class, the RDF parser will break.

As of 04th July 2002, KAON works ONLY with JDK 1.4.0_01. JDK 1.4.0 has a bug in the URI class and this bug prevents normal usage of the RDF parser. All users are kindly asked to update their JDK versions.

This version of KAON has a completely restructured KAON API and has numerous updates in the RDF API as well. The updates are:
- support for modularization
- fully functional EvolutionStrategyImpl
- meta-modeling
- richer modeling primitives (symmetry, transitive properties)

There is also an extensive framework for Swing GUIs available containing the beginning of OI-modeler - an application for creation of OI-models.
