I propose to complicate the reference mechanism as follows: An anchor node can be either numeric or alpha. If the anchor is alpha, and the node is a map, then the anchor is the value of the key of the given type. Aka... map: % &id id: 302 name: Clark Evans ref: *302 in addition to our current mechanism. This will allow for the links to be done via primary key, where the primary key is part of the data.... Why? Beacuse I'm serializing to/from a database all of the time, and my database already has primary keys that are *data* and must be part of the information stream. Yet, I'd like to use these keys for YAML reference linking... Thoughts? Clark |
