I have a database, and I found I needed to store meta-data about fields in the database. It was cake walk. Each table has a 'comment' field, and in this comment field I store a YAML text with the information about the table, that I require. It's brilliantly simple. While Syck may not be ready for "random" data, it is ready for parsing "controlled" subset of YAML produced by Steve Howell's ydump (part of syck/python). Cheers! Clark |
