I am rating Yabb 1 Final. Excellent. High platform compatibility, no-nonsense. Easy to debug. No database server jargon. No (apache2) libphp4 module "ELF32 only" problems. Great time saver, quick to deploy. I feel PHP is being flooded with weaponized hacks that "require more and more of ubuntu or it fails". I compiled apache2 and php-4+, apache2 loads libphp4.so, but no php ever works tried 25+ ways. No (easy) way to determine why. open but not really open - weaponized. And Python is riddle with weaponizations. but mod_perl is also a custom hack - neither Perl nor Apache support it (Yabb2 requires it). If you want to start a phorum or forum that is not global thus doesn't need Oracle db, Yabb 1 final is a very good bet it will work in no time - saving you time and money. "mysql", which has poor security and who keeps changing input language to make old db scripting not work at all: NOT REQUIRED, no db is required. One more benefit for admins. I noticed Reddit is global but deletes all past posts by age (except those they mark political attack value). There's little reason for "massive databasing query engine" rather than file storage unless you are really saving a ton of data and fetching item data is a problem. If your starting a forum: trust me your PC can handle getting data out of a system of files just fine. ONCE MORE: PHP and Py aren't Facebook. They don't provide listening to radio, watching tv clips, scrollable on cell and pc both. They aren't upwards scalable. If you want upward mobility media streaming - PHP PY base forums don't have that any more than Yabb (including html) does. As for Yabb2, I saw it uses "more code from other projects and required platform mod_perl" (aka - ubuntu requires) and that's always a problem for me - since if those are from ubuntu they tend to be weaponized to fail on other linux like Slackware or Redhat. Simply put I don't run ubuntu or win10 or virtual - i get along fine without any of them.
