Send text inside monitor ( terminal emulator maybe ? )

Hi,

First i would like to thank for the great tool created by yat developers.

Is there any way to send text only through the "Monitor" "text box" instead of sending the text through "Send Text" text box ?

Hi Rangel,

This is not foreseen. Actually, the UI elements that YAT uses (.NET WinForms) are somewhat limited. And I don't have the resources to come up with custom UI elements to the degree that would be needed to enable sending text from within the monitor.

What is the reason/background for this inquiry?

Note that the upcoming YAT 2.6.0 did improve in terms of the UI, there is now less fuss and more space available for the relevant stuff. You will even be able to hide the menu and/or toolbar. See attachment for a preliminary screenshot.

i would just like to use like it's e.g. windows Command Prompt terminal.

I was using Tera Term which behaves this way.

I was browsing the FreeRtos website and i saw an issue where they used Yat, so i got curious, and i download and installed Yat.

Hi Rangel,

I see. Please note that YAT has a somewhat different focus than "standard" terminals. https://sourceforge.net/p/y-a-terminal/discussion/general/thread/7496a7d4/ elaborates on this. Depending on your use cases, YAT is near to perfect, or not suitable at all. It's up to the users to decide which tool to use. We are all glad there is variety :-)

I understand.

The Yat tool looks very good to me.

Maybe for the tool to be perfect, the emulation terminal (ANSI, VT100, VT52, VTNT, X11,...), could be implemented in the future.
