What version of Java are you using? Mandriva 2008 ships with icedtea-1.7 which is the latest, but it isn't the best for programs with a bit of age. I found that I had to go back to 1.6 to make Xvoice work, also another program I use that hasn't been updated for some time. The ViaVoice scripts include vvsetenv, but you will need to run it for xvoice-tools. You must not have Xvoice running during enrollment; that will give you that kind of error message. After exiting a VV script, wait about 5 seconds (until the prompt returns) before restarting, to allow Java to clear down. Personally, I have had so few problems, that I would prefer to leave these issues to others to answer. Doug.
