A first analysis shows that the fault is caused by the "block" functionality. Unfortunately there is no workaround at the moment except for hand editing the files in question.
After making a backup copy open the XTC file in your favorite editor and find the BLOCK statements:
BLOCK 78 "Turn 1" ""
TRK 82
TRK 79
TRK 87038664
TRK 105
END
Remove all lines up to the next END statement.
Repeat for all blocks.
Hopefully there will be a better solution in the next XTrackCAD release.

Thank you for the workaround!
Hopefully the problem was found and fixed. If possible, please attach more files that are broken for testing.
Fix will be available with next release
